Back when XIaomi unveiled the Mi 4, it also announced that it plans on unveiling the next version of MIUI (v6) on August 16th. Not much is known about the upcoming version of MIUI except for the fact that it would be pre-installed on the Mi 4.
That changes today though, as some screenshots of MIUI v6 have made their way to the Internet giving us a sneak peek at its new revamped UI.
From the screenshots, it looks like this time Xiaomi took inspiration from not only Apple but HTC’s Sense UI as well. The action bar and status bar design are a clear result of the amalgamation of the design language of both the companies.
On the other hand, some of the UI elements like the arrows and other icons seems to be inspired from Google’s new Material Design language.
On the positive side, it is nice to see Xiaomi revamping the UI of MIUI with its latest version. The current version had already started looking stale especially when compared to iOS 8 and Android 4.4 KitKat.
The complete feature list of MIUI v6 is not yet known, though the official unveiling of Xiaomi’s latest OS is not far away now.
