As promised by Xiaomi, the latest version of its take on Android — MIUI 7 — is now available for download for a bunch of its devices through its website. The ROM is still in beta stages though, so there are bound to be some bugs and issues present on it.
MIUI 7 was unveiled by Xiaomi at an event in India last week. The latest version of the company’s skin comes with a number of new features and enhancements, including four new system UIs, XXL font, Quick OTP, Smart SMS filter, Baby Album, Auto DND, and more. Xiaomi also notes that MIUI 7 brings with it around 10% of improvement in battery life and an improvement of around 30% in system performance.
Since the ROM is still in beta, it is not being rolled out via an OTA to all Xiaomi devices out there. Instead, users interested in running MIUI 7 on their device will have to download the developer ROM from here and manually install it on their device.
