As our smartwatches become more ubiquitous, which companies are banking on happening sooner rather than later, there are obviously going to be new and exciting ways for us to interact with them. While most wearables are meant to work as an accessory to our smartphones only, we’re starting to see some rather curious input methods begin to crop up for the small devices.

It has not even been a week since we saw Fleksy unveil their Messenger application for Samsung’s Gear 2 smartwatch, and now it looks like Minuum wants to get in on the action with their very peculiar small keyboard. It stands out, simply because Minuum is a keyboard that might make the most sense on a device’s face as small as a smartwatch, and they’re putting a focus on watches with circular faces. From looking at the keyboard, that circular focus makes a lot of sense.

Keyboards on our smartwatches may seem ridiculous, but as Minuum points out in their announcement, sometimes talking to your smartwatch for input just doesn’t work. Finding yourself in a busy environment, especially a noisy one, means that replying by voice may not be a possibility. Having the option for a keyboard could be a great benefit.

Do you think a keyboard on your smartwatch is something you’ll use often, if at all?
