Last month, Google had announced that it would soon enable the option to automatically show inline images in emails without putting the user’s security and privacy at risk. The feature has since then been slowly rolled out to the web version of Gmail and today, the company is bringing it to the Gmail app for Android via a small update (v4.7.2).

Post the update, all the images in your emails will be automatically shown in the Gmail app without the need to press that pesky ‘Show pictures’ option every time. At the moment, it looks like the update does not bring any other significant changes.

In typical Google fashion, the update is being rolled out in stages so it will a few days to show up on your device. If you cannot wait, head over to this link to grab the APK of the update and then install it manually on your device.

If you come across any new feature or enhancements in this update, do drop in a comment and let us know.
