MediaTek today announced its new family of premium mobile chipsets: the Helio X and Helio P. However, the company has only revealed specifications of one chipset called the Helio X10.

The X10 is a 64-bit octa-core chipset comprising of eight Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 2.2GHz. The chip is capable of recording slow-motion videos at 480FPS, and supports displays with refresh rate of up to 120Hz. Other details of the chipset remain unknown at this point.

The company will also be launching its Helio P chipsets — “a range of premium performance chips” — later in 2015. It did not reveal any specs or features of this chipset at the event.

MediaTek expects the first Android smartphones to be powered by its Helio chipsets to hit the market in the second quarter of 2015.
