It’s been a bit of time since Google officially announced and released Android 5.1, but some Nexus-branded devices haven’t jumped on the bandwagon just yet.
One more is officially joining the party, though, as it’s been confirmed that the LTE-equipped Nexus 7 (2013) is now receiving its Android 5.1 update over the air. For those keeping track, that means the Wi-Fi Nexus 7 (2013) hasn’t received the update just yet, which marks a bit of a departure from how these updates usually roll out. (The LTE-equipped devices usually lag behind the Wi-Fi-only variants.)
The update is rolling out now, but as is par for the course for these sorts of updates, it might take some time to land on all of the Nexus 7s out there, so keep an eye out.
As far as the update’s details are concerned, it will officially bump the tablet up to Android 5.1, which will take users to version LMY470. The update measures in at around 200MB.
