LG today announced that it is starting the rollout of the Watch Urbane from this week in South Korea and other countries.
The launch of the premium smartwatch in the company’s home country will be followed by its launch in key North American, European and Asian markets in the weeks to come.
In addition, the smartwatch will be available for purchase in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Korea, Spain, the United Kingdom and the United States via the Google Store from this month.
The LG Watch Urbane features a 1.3-inch circular P-OLED display as already seen on the G Watch R, but with thinner and less prominent bezels. The smartwatch also comes with a stainless steel body and a stitched genuine leather strap. The leather band can also be easily replaced with any other aftermarket 22mm band.
The Watch Urbane is also going to be the first Android Wear smartwatch to run the latest version of the OS, which includes many new features like Wi-Fi support, hand drawn emojis and more. You can read all about the new features in the latest version of Android Wear here.
Additionally, the watch also comes with LG Call and LG Pulse. The former will allow Urbane owners to access their call log and favorite list right from their wrist, while the latter will measure the heart rate of the wearer while they are exercising, and display their average heart rate at the end of the session. The data will then be displayed along with a graph in LG’s upcoming Health app.
