LG Watch Urbane 2nd edition

Less than a week after announcing the retail availability of the Watch Urbane 2nd Edition LTE, LG has  gone ahead and canceled the launch of the smartwatch citing “hardware issue.”

The email sent from LG did not make it clear if the company will launch the Watch Urbane 2nd Edition LTE down the line if it managed to fix the unnamed hardware issue.

AT&T and Verizon, who had already started taking pre-orders for the smartwatch in the U.S., have confirmed that they will issue full refunds or a replacement — which in this case is the Samsung Gear S2 — to all customers who had pre-ordered the smartwatch. The carriers will also be immediately removing all demo units of the smartwatch from display in their store, and returning it back to LG.

The Watch Urbane 2nd Edition LTE was the first Android Wear running smartwatch with LTE connectivity and speaker support.
