Ahead of the official unveiling of the LG V30 on August 31, the Korean company has announced that its upcoming flagship handset will offer “next-generation audio functions unseen in a smartphone.”
The LG V30 features a 32-bit advanced Hi-Fi Quad DAC which is powered by ESS Technology’s SABRE ES9218P. This is the same DAC that LG had first used on the V20 last year and the G6 this year. On the V30 though, the company has improved the Quad DAC further by adding digital filters and sound presets to it. This allows users to customise the sound coming out of the Quad DAC to suit their own listening habits.
Digital filters, normally only available in expensive digital audio players, improves the pre- and post-ringing of the impulse response with filters that can be customized to personal tastes.
The V30 also comes with high-resolution audio streaming technology from MQA Ltd which provides for a better audio output even while streaming music files instead of playing back locally saved files.
Lastly, the HD Audio Recorded on the V30 allows it to be used as a RAM – Receiver-as-a-Mic. And since the handset features HDR microphones, it can record loud sounds without any kind of distortion.
LG has also made use of its partnership with B&O Play to further refine and fine-tune the audio quality and sound experience of the V30. The company is also going to bundle a premium B&O Play earphones with the handset.
LG will be unveiling the V30 later this week on August 31 at IFA in Berlin.
