LG today unveiled its new ‘X’ mid-range lineup of smartphones that will be offering “one exceptional feature at a price that rivals mid-range smartphones.” The first two phones in this series — the X cam and X screen — will be unveiled at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next month.
LG is aiming its new lineup of smartphones towards users who don’t want all the bells and whistles found in high-end smartphones, but still desire a great camera or display.
True to its name, the ‘X’-factor of the X cam is its dual camera setup at the rear that delivers “one of the most advanced camera experience” in a mid-tier smartphone. The handset is only 5.2mm thin, weighs 118g and features a 3D Bending Glass at the front for an elegant curved finish.
On the other hand, the X screen comes with a primary 4.93-inch HD display that is accompanied by a secondary “Always-On” 1.76-inch display that sits right above it. Just like the V10, the secondary display is used to display the date, time, notifications, and other similar information without requiring you to turn your phone one. The handset also features a modern design that makes use of “crystal-clear glass fiber exterior and clean lines.”
Both phones come with 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, a microSD card slot, LTE support, and run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box. The phones will be making their way to important markets in Asia, Europe and Latin America in March.
