LG today announced its new mid-range series of smartphones featuring “advanced camera technology”: the K10 and K7. These two handsets will be the first in the company’s new K lineup of smartphones and feature its new ‘glossy pebble’ design language. 

LG describes its new glossy pebble design as a “contemporary, stylish look with a curved, modern finish” that is aimed at youngsters. The back of the handsets feature a unique woven pattern that makes gripping the handset easier. The handsets also uses LG’s new 2.5D Arc Glass at the front that make it easier to swipe around the UI.

Beside focusing on the camera performance, the K10 and K7 will also borrow some of the UX and UI features that are usually found in LG’s premium smartphones.

“Our 2016 K Series is the latest example of LG applying it best mobile technology and premium design philosophy across numerous smartphone categories,” said Juno Cho, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. “Customers equate the LG name with great smartphone imaging technology and we are committed to delivering on that flattering expectation.”

The K10 is the bigger and more powerful of the two handsets announced today. It comes with a 5.3-inch HD display and is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core or a 1.14GHz octa-core chip. It also features 2/1.5GB RAM, a 13MP rear shooter and a 8/5MP front shooter with an LED flash.

On the other hand, the K7 packs in a 5-inch FWVGA display, and is powered by a 1.1GHz quad-core chip and 1.5/1GB of RAM. It features an 8MP rear shooter and a 5MP shooter at the front that is aided by an LED flash. Both handsets feature a 2.5D Arc Glass and come with software features like Gesture Shot, Gesture Internal Shot and Tap and Shot, which are found in high-end LG smartphones.
