A new report claims that LG has been asked to make its third Nexus smartphone in a row: the Nexus 6. Having made the Nexus 4 and the Nexus 5 with great success, it seems logical for Google to go with the Korean manufacturer again for its upcoming flagship.
This report further suggests that the new Nexus smartphone will be a ‘lightweight’ version of the LG G3 which is expected to launch in May or June. So in terms of hardware, the Nexus 6 could be drool worthy as the G3 is rumored to pack a 5.5 inch 2K resolution (2560 x 1440) display along with the much rumored LG Odin chipset and possibly a 16 megapixel camera with OIS. Other details are scarce at the moment as LG is yet to make anything public, but we can expect to know more in the coming months.
Given the massive success of the Nexus smartphones, it is being said that LG wants to launch the G2 successor way before its usual update cycle. This will give the LG flagship more time in the market before the next Nexus is launched later in the year.
