LG is all set to unveil its flagship smartphone, the LG G8 ThinQ, at MWC 2019 later this month. Spoiling LG’s party though, @evleaks has leaked photos that show off the phone from various angles. From the photo, it is clear that LG is not going to raise the bar with G8’s design which is similar to any other phone released in 2018 with a notched display at the front. Interestingly, LG also seems to be sticking to using a traditional fingerprint scanner on the G8 ThinQ which is located at the rear. Samsung is all set to move to an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner with its Galaxy S10 series, while many other Chinese OEMs have already switched to in-display fingerprint scanners.

From the leaked photo, it is clear that the LG G8 is not going to offer any of the usual new features that we are expecting from a 2019 flagship. Instead, in usual LG style, the company will offer some accessories and other goodies with the G8 ThinQ to further enhance the overall experience. There are rumors of LG offering a special case for the G8 that will add a second display to it. Similarly, rumors point to the phone coming with a new speaker technology in which the entire front panel will vibrate to produce sound.
LG has already confirmed that the G8 ThinQ will come with a 3D ToF sensor at the front for Face ID-like biometric authentication. It will also feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855 chipset. LG is rumored to also unveil a 5G-capable V50 alongside the G8 at MWC 2019.
