LG wants to start IFA 2018 off with a bang, and that process includes announcing a pair of new smartphones even before the trade event even starts.
LG has officially announced the G7 One and G7 Fit on Tuesday, adding two new options for anyone who might be in the market for a new smartphone soon. Unfortunately, while the two handsets are now officially official, LG isn’t going into any details regarding price or availability, saying that information will be unveiled locally when the time is right.
There is actually quite a bit to like about these handsets, especially if LG sticks to its plans to keep the prices on each down in comparison to what’s on the market. For instance, both handsets feature a 6.1-inch QHD+ display, with a resolution of 3120×1440 and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9, thanks to the notch at the top of the screen. Both handsets feature a 3000mAh battery under the hood, and 4GB of RAM. They both support a microSD card up to 2TB for expandable storage, and both offer a 16MP rear camera and an 8MP front-facing camera (with differing apertures).
There aren’t many differences. The Android G7 Fit is running Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box, while the G7 One is running Android 8.1 Oreo but as the Android One option. And the G7 Fit comes in two variants, one with 64GB of built-in storage and the other with 32GB of built-in storage. Meanwhile, the G7 One only has a 32GB option. The two handsets also have a fingerprint reader on the back, and they also support Qualcomm QuickCharge 3.0.
