LG G5 Best Buy

LG has announced that its flagship handset for at least the first half of 2016, the LG G5, will go on sale globally from March 31. Depending on the country, the company will also be bundling different accessories with the phone.

The company also revealed the prices of a couple of G5’s “Friends”: the Cam Plus and the Bang & Olufsen’s Hi-Fi DAC. The former will be roughly priced at $85, while the latter will set you back by $160. The prices have been translated from Korean currency, so they are not entirely accurate and there will be some variation depending on your market and taxes.

In the United States, Best Buy has already started taking pre-orders for the Sprint and AT&T variants of the handset, with pre-orders from Verizon starting from March 24. If you end up pre-ordering the G5 through Best Buy for Sprint’s network on a 2-year contract, the retailer will give you a $100 discount. Alternatively, you can also get a $100 Best Buy gift card with the handset. This is in addition to the free replacement battery, charging cradle, and USB-C to microUSB adapter that LG is already bundling with the handset in the country.

Compared to other flagship handsets announced this year, the somewhat modular design of the G5 set its apart. Whether the modular design and the various modules of the handset do well with customers or not, is something that only time will tell though.
