Verizon is preparing its Voice-over LTE (VoLTE) network, which should be launching very soon, and that means the network also has to update many devices to support the new technology. LG’s G2 is one of the devices to start receiving the necessary upgrade.
The over-the-air (OTA) update for LG’s 2013 flagship handset was confirmed by Droid-Life. The update will bring the G2’s version up to VS98025B. With it, the device will get support for Advanced Calling 1.0, which covers new features like in-call Video Calling and HD Voice, which will both be available with VoLTE. With it, as long as you and the person you are calling also have VoLTE support and are within a covered network, you’ll be able to seamlessly switch between a voice call and a video call.
The update is rolling out now, and if you head through the source link you’ll find the full change log. Have you received the update yet?
