Another day, another LG G3 leak. However, this time the leak comes straight from an event in Korea where LG officially showcased the features and specs of the handset to Korean retailers. The specs seem to match up with what the leaks have suggested until now, with LG cramming the best available tech today inside a phone with relatively less bezel space than the competition.
This means that the G3 will be sporting a 5.5-inch Quad HD display, giving it a pixel density of 538ppi. Even though the handset packs in a bigger screen, it will not be physically bigger than the Xperia Z2, which packs in a 5.2-inch screen. Other key specs include a Snapdragon 801 processor, 3GB of LPDDR3 RAM, 32GB of storage space and a non-removable 3000mAh battery.
A couple of slides from the presentation also confirm the presence of a 1-watt rear speaker and OIS+ for the 13MP camera on the back. These features are already included on the LG G Pro 2, which was announced at Mobile World Congress earlier this year.
Interestingly, the PhoneArena tipster also confirms the presence of a laser assist auto-focus beam on the G3 to improve the auto-focus speed in poor lighting conditions. There is also an “enhanced selfie mode” to aid the 2.1MP front-facing camera in taking better photos.
LG is scheduled to unveil the G3 next week on May 27th.
