LG’s latest flagship will soon be making its debut in India, with the LG G3 now available for pre-order in the country from online retailer Infibeam. Pricing is set at Rs. 46,990 for the 16 GB variant and Rs. 49,990 for the 32 GB model, with orders to start shipping from July 25th, after which the phone should become available at other major retailers as well.
LG’s pricing for the G3 undercuts the launch prices of current flagships from Samsung, HTC and Sony, which is impressive considering the phone offers similar hardware but tops them with features like a considerably higher-resolution display. To jog your memory, the G3 sports a 5.5-inch QHD (2560×1440) display, a 2.5 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor, 13-megapixel rear camera with OIS+ and laser-assisted autofocus, a 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera, a microSD slot, and a 3,000 mAh battery.
The 16 GB model comes with 2 GB of RAM, while the 32 GB variant packs 3 GB of RAM. The G3 runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat like any self-respecting new smartphone on the market, with features such as Knock Code and a user adjustable keyboard. (https://fooplugins.com) Rounding off the feature list is a 1-watt speaker on the back for loud sound output, though you probably won’t find the quality to be as impressive as the front-facing stereo speakers on the HTC One M8 or the Sony Xperia Z2.
Indian consumers who like a bit of bling on their phones might be disappointed to see that the gold color option isn’t listed, but then again, one can always hope that won’t remain the case for long. Let us know in the comments if you’re planning to pick up the G3, or whether you’re waiting for the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 instead.
