LG’s Optimus G, the device that was used as a template for the Google Nexus 4, is highly likely going to get refreshed this year. Rumors say the new G, let’s call it the G2 for now, is going to pack a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, along with a beautiful 5 inch 1080p display. Now a photo of this alleged G2 hit the internets roughly five days ago thanks to @evleaks, the Twitter user who somehow magically gets information before everyone else.
Guess what @evleaks just tweeted about an hour ago? Yet another photo of the G2, at least that’s what he thinks it might be. Granted, this new photo isn’t very exciting, but it does look like a device with ridiculously thin bezels. You just barely see where the screen ends and where the body begins, which has me hoping that this handset not only turns out to be the G2, but that it’ll be used for the next Nexus. Let’s call it the Nexus 5.
There was a rumor on The Korea Times earlier this month that said LG was working with Google on the next Nexus, so I’m inclined to believe that what you’re looking at above could potentially be just that. That’s purely speculation on my part though.
Update: Below are the two photos of the “G2” that were previously shared.
