The Greek website Techblog, who has actually scored a few decent exclusives believe it or not, has some information about LG’s upcoming flagship phone that’s kind of a big deal. You know how we’ve all been saying the G2 will have a 5 inch screen? Turns out it’s going to be 5.2 inches, which I’m all for. Bigger is better, in my opinion at least. And as for the camera, it’ll have optical image stabilization.
That’s it. That’s all the news. When will we know if Techblog is either totally correct or totally wrong? On August 7th. That’s when LG is scheduled to hold a press conference in New York City where it’s widely believed they’ll show off their latest flagship phone. It’ll have a Snapdragon 800 inside, I’m positive about that, but little else is known about the device.
Should you wait for the G2? I’m sorry, but LG always leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Their software comes off as a poor attempt to clone Samsung’s work. I can actually live with that. What I can’t deal with is LG’s track record of providing few or no updates to their devices.
If I buy a G2, will it be supported for the next 24 months? Highly doubtful, and that bugs me. A lot.
