LG G Watch

A new report claims that the LG G Watch could hit the UK by July for £180, which is very modest for a new smartwatch. There’s no word on the specifications of this smartwatch yet, but initial reports have claimed that it’s bigger than the Gear 2 in terms of size.

Surprisingly, the expected pricing of the G Watch is the same as the Samsung Gear Fit, so Samsung might have to rethink its pricing strategy once the LG smartwatch is released this Summer.

The G Watch comes with user changeable straps and a heavily tweaked version of Android, dubbed as Android Wear. Shortly after Google announced this new wearable OS, LG and Motorola were the first to introduce their respective options.

While Motorola’s offering has garnered the most eyeballs, its limited availability is a concern for global customers. The likes of Samsung and HTC are also expected to launch Android Wear based devices in the coming days, so things could get very interesting in the next few months. Pricing will be very crucial for the success of these Android Wear based smartwatches.
