LG just launched the G Pad X 8.0, an Android Marshmallow operating system based tablet, is now available in the US through the carrier T-Mobile.

The G Pad X 8.0 also known as the LG G Pad III 8.0 in Korea and Canada, comes with — you guessed it — an 8-inch screen that has a 1200 x 1920 aspect ratio. Its resolution makes it ideal for watching videos and the Reader Mode, further enhances this experience by filtering out blue light at night so that your sleep is not affected.

The outer shell is made from plastic and metal and the rear has a nice texture that makes it comfortable to hold. Inside, it has a 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 617 SoC, alongside a 2GB of RAM mated with 16GB of expandable storage. The front and rear cameras are both 5MP and offer the same image quality and resolution.

The G Pad X also comes with a full-sized USB port so that you can plug in a USB stick and transfer data directly using a file sharing system. This feature paired with the LG software build on top of the Marshmallow 6.0 framework adds additional functionality such as Split Screen multitasking and having your phone paired to display notifications on the tablet using Q Pair.

For now, T-Mobile is the only carrier in US offering the LG G Pad X 8.0 for USD 240, whose only difference from the Canadian and Korean version is the lack of LTE network band support that the later versions have.
