In late 2013, LG had unveiled the G Flex — a phone with a curved and flexible P-OLED display and a “self-healing” back. While the handset was not a commercial success for LG, it did manage to capture the interest of many because of all its unique features.
Now, it looks like LG is finally ready to unveil the successor of the G Flex — the G Flex 2 — at CES next week. According to a report from Korean website Naver, the G Flex 2 will be powered by a Snapdragon 810 processor making it among the first Android devices to feature Qualcomm’s next-gen chip based on ARM’s 64-bit architecture. It is also reported to feature Tri-band LTE-A carrier aggregation that can provide a maximum download speed of up to 300Mbps. If true, this should make it the second handset in the world after the recently unveiled CA LTE-A Galaxy Note 4 variant from Samsung.
The report does not reveal any other specification or feature set of the G Flex 2, but rumors indicate that the device will feature a slightly smaller curved screen at 5.5-inches with Full HD resolution. It is also likely to retain its self healing back, and will have a wider launch this time around including in the United States.
