Lenovo today announced a major reorganisation that will see its PC unit expand to include tablets, phablets and smart home products running Windows, Android and Chrome OS. Called PC & Smart Device Business Unit, this new unit will be led by Gianfranco Lanci, who previously used to work at Acer.

More importantly though, the reorganisation will see Motorola President Rick Osterloh leaving the company. Rick Osterloh took in charge of Motorola in April 2014, just before Lenovo started its acquisition process.

The rest of the mobile unit at Lenovo will be reporting to Xudong Chen and Aymar de Lencquesaing, who will then report to Lenovo CEO Yang Yuanqing.

Here is what Lenovo had to say about Osterloh’s departure:

“His steady leadership since Lenovo’s acquisition is appreciated and Lenovo wishes him continued success in the future,” Lenovo said of Osterloh. “The talent and innovation capabilities in Motorola are among Lenovo’s strongest advantages in mobile, so the Motorola teams will continue to enable the entire (mobile business group), including in China.”

Lenovo has  previously confirmed that it will not be killing the Motorola brand and its popular devices like the Moto G and Moto E.

Despite coming out with some impressive devices, Lenovo’s market share has been dwindling in China — its largest market. In other regions of the world, especially in India though, the company has seen an increase in its market share.
