The lack of VoLTE on the Lenovo Vibe K5 Note has turned out to be pretty frustrating for potential Reliance Jio customers. The lack of VoLTE means that Vibe K5 Note owners cannot directly make phone calls on the handset without making use of the JioJoin app from Reliance.

Lenovo had previously confirmed that it would add VoLTE support on the Vibe K5 Note via a software update in the future. The company, however, refrained from posting any timeline as to when the software update would be rolled out. A Lenovo community administrator over at the company’s support forum has now recently confirmed that the company will soon be rolling out a software update to add VoLTE support to the Vibe K5 Note.

Now, while the wording made it sound like Lenovo has already rolled out the software update to Vibe K5 Note in India, but that is not the case. The software update will be rolled out soon though, probably in the coming weeks or couple of months.

Despite featuring support for all the required bands, almost all the majority of Lenovo handsets sold in India do not support VoLTE that makes using a Reliance Jio SIM card on them slightly tedious. The company has also not been clear on whether it would be adding VoLTE support to its existing devices like the Vibe K4 Note, Vibe S1, P1, and others.
