Ever since the HTC One Max shipped with a fingerprint scanner, rumors have been floating around that the One’s successor will also ship with a fingerprint scanner. Now, the folks over at Sonny Dickson have managed to get their hands on some third party cases for the next-generation One.

The case design suggests that the M8 will have a design that will be very similar to the current gen One (M7). Things get interesting at the back of the case where apart from a camera and LED flash hole, there is another cutout at the top probably for a fingerprint scanner.

The One Max was the first phone from HTC to come with a fingerprint scanner but it was hardly of any use with its swipe based usage pattern. Hopefully, HTC has learnt its lesson with the One Max and the fingerprint sensor on the One’s successor will be much more useful.

Keep in mind that these images can very well be based on a render and the design of the One’s successor is nothing like what the case above suggests.
