HTC is going to hold an event next week, on the 19th, to unveil the Butterfly S. What is the Butterfly S? Think of it like a 5 inch HTC One, except in a body that uses the company’s “old” design language. Yes, that means plastic instead of metal. If you’re OK with that, then you’ll love this thing since it’s basically a flagship phone. We’re talking 5 inch 1080p display, dual front facing speakers, UltraPixel camera, and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 under the hood.
I should warn you though, there’s a high probability that this phone isn’t going to leave Asia. You’ll probably be able to import it somehow, but I don’t think HTC will officially bring this phone to Europe or the United States. No, they have something even bigger in mind. Rumors say that there’s going to be a 5.9 inch HTC One Max coming out this quarter. It sounds exactly like you’re picturing it, the HTC One, but with a 5.9 inch 1080p display.
Not much is known about the Max, but as soon as I find something out, I’ll let you know.
