OnePlus today unveiled the Lava Red variant of the OnePlus 5T in India. This is the first time that OnePlus has launched a red color variant of any of its smartphone.
OnePlus says that it has achieved the Lava Red color through an “accurate combination of temperature consistency and baking time with less than 0.001% variation.” Further, OnePlus uses two anodic oxidation process using double blasting and AF coating to get the texture and feel.
Lastly, the Lava Red OnePlus 5T will come with a redesigned wallpaper to match its new color scheme.
OnePlus had first launched the Lava Red edition of the OnePlus 5T in China where the it sold out within a few seconds of going on sale. In India, the Lava Red OnePlus 5T will go on sale exclusively on Amazon India from January 20th at 12 noon for Rs 37,999. The price of the device remains the same as of the existing 8GB RAM/128GB variant.
Its specifications remain the same as the existing model. This means we are looking at a 5.99-inch Optic AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution, Snapdragon 835 chipset at 2.4GHz, 8GB RAM, and 128GB of storage space. It also features a dual-camera setup at the rear featuring 16MP and 20MP sensors at the rear with f/1.7 aperture.
OnePlus had previously launched the Star Wars edition OnePlus 5T in India and a limited-edition Sandstone White OnePlus 5T in Europe, United States and the United Kingdom last month. By launching different colours of its handset from time to time, the company is ensuring that it manages to keep consumer interest alive in its excellent phone.
