The listing of the last Google Play edition device — the HTC One M8 GPe — was removed from the Play Store earlier today.
Over the last few months, Google has been slowly removing the listing of all GPe devices from its online store, including the Z Ultra, the Galaxy S4 and the Moto G.
At the moment, it is unclear if Google and carriers will launch new GPe devices in the future or if the program is completely dead.
Right now, if you want a high-end Android device running stock Android, your only options are the Nexus 6 and the Moto X. You can also search on sites like eBay and Swappa for the GPe edition of the One M8, but it is likely that you will have to pay a premium for it.
Even though the Google Play edition program was not that big of a success, one can only hope that HTC and other OEMs keep releasing Google Play editions of their high-end devices to cater to a niche segment of stock Android lovers.
