Google has refreshed its Android platform stats for a 7-day period ending on September 9th, 2014 and the numbers are pretty encouraging. 

The latest release of Android — KitKat — now runs on nearly 25% (24.5% to be exact) devices out there, reporting a jump of 3.6% in only a month.

    Android 4.2 and Android 4.3 Jelly Bean reported a small jump to 20.7 and 8% from 19.8 and 7.9%, respectively. On the other hand, Android 4.1 share dropped by 1.4% to 25.1%. As for Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, it reported a drop of 1% to 9.6%.

    Android 2.3 Gingerbread, which was one the most popular version of Android, saw its share drop by 2.6% to 11.4% while FroYo remained steady at 0.7%.

    With Android L all set to release next month, Android 4.x is soon going to become the new Gingerbread in the Android world.
