At this year’s Consumer Electronics Show, some manufacturers have put their sights on Android Auto, Google’s in-car system introduced in 2013, including Kenwood.
The company that is well known in the aftermarket in-car receiver industry has just introduced a brand new multimedia receiver, which it plans to showcase on the showroom floor at the CES convention in Las Vegas, Nevada. The multimedia receiver will fully support Android Auto, which means that it will bear all of the functionality that Google announced last year, including Google Now support for a seamless experience from the mobile device to the system in the vehicle.
The receiver also supports an MHL-supported HDMI port, which means that an Android device can be connected to the receiver and get charged. The receiver also features support for built-in Pandora and iHeartRadio, but it can also connect via Bluetooth to a smartphone for phone calls and streaming music.
As of the time of this writing, there is no launch date just yet, and pricing has not been confirmed as of yet.
