Instagram Boomerang

Instagram is all about sharing experiences, be it through photos or quick videos. Now the company wants to let you share your burst photos as videos, too.

On Thursday, October 22, Instagram officially announced a new app called Boomerang. With the app, users will be able to take a series of quick photos, burst photos, after which the app will automatically stitch them together and create “mini video” from the results. That video will play on a loop, forward and backward, to show off the event in a new way.

Those mini videos can be shared to Instagram or Facebook, as well as other sources, and Instagram says the burst photos/mini videos can be captured in either landscape or portrait mode.

Boomerang is available right now in the Play Store for free, and a link to download it is below.
