Alongside the Huawei P20 and P20 Pro, the Chinese OEM also unveiled the Porsche Design Huawei Mate RS. Featuring an 8 edge 3D curved design, the Mate RS is filled to the brim with every possible feature that you could think of. In fact, the handset even comes with two fingerprint scanners.
Apart from the traditional fingerprint scanner at its rear, the Mate RS also features an in-display fingerprint scanner. Huawei says that one can unlock their phone by simply hovering their finger above the display thanks to the in-display fingerprint scanner. That’s not all though. The Mate RS features a 6-inch QHD+ OLED display which thankfully lacks a notch display design as seen on the P20 and P20 Pro.
Other specs include a Kirin 970 chipset, a triple camera system at the rear as seen on the P20 Pro which includes a 40MP sensor, 256/512GB of storage, dual SLS speakers with Dolby Atmos support, dual-SIM support, Wi-Fi ac, and more. The handset also features an IP67 rating thereby making it dust and water resistant. Huawei has also used a microcapsule PCM cooling tech inside the Mate RS which should ensure the phone does not overheat when under heavy load. The handset is powered by a 4000mAh battery and makes use of Huawei’s SuperCharge tech. It is also the first phone from the company to feature fast wireless charging.
The Porsche Design Huawei Mate RS is definitely a piece of technology to marvel at. No wonder then that its steep price tag reflects exactly that. The 6GB RAM/256GB storage variant of the handset will be available for €1,695, while the 6GB RAM/512GB storage option will be sold for €2,095. The handset will be available in Europe from April 12, 2018.
