Huawei’s CEO Richard Yu confirmed that it will be launching the Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro at an event in Munich on October 16. The company’s latest flagship will make use of its Kirin 970 chipset based on the 10nm fabrication process.

The Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro will be Huawei’s first handsets to feature a full display design similar to that of the Galaxy S8, LG V30, and Essential Phone. The Mate 10 Pro will feature a 6-inch bezel-less LCD display, better battery life, 6GB RAM, and a dual 12/20MP camera setup at the rear.

Rumors claim the Mate 10 Pro will also feature dual camera setup at the front similar to what we have seen in some Oppo phones. The device will come with a 4000mAh battery which while the same as the Mate 9 should still offer better battery life due to the use of a more power efficient 10nm chipset.

On the software front, the Mate 10 will run on EMUI 6 based on Android 7.1 Nougat. It is unclear as of now as to what features and improvements Huawei will be packing in the upcoming version of Emotion UI.

Huawei’s Mate series of handsets have been extremely successful in Europe so it is not surprising that the company is unveiling its flagship handset at an event being held in Munich.
