At the beginning of April it was revealed that the Honor 6 Plus from Huawei would land in the United Kingdom on May 1, but it looks like Huawei might have another, even cheaper device on the way.
Huawei has snuck in a new phone, apparently called the “SnapTo,” on Amazon. It’s called the “Expo” at the top of the product page, but SnapTo appears throughout the promotional materials, so it would appear that SnapTo is the official name of the upcoming handset. Expo could be a codename for the handset.
As far as features go, the SnapTo/Expo features a 5-inch 720p HD display, a 5MP camera on the back with a 2MP front-facing camera. There’s a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz under the hood, 8GB of built-in storage with a microSD card slot, and 1GB of RAM. The battery is measured in at 2200mAh. It’s running Android 4.4.2 out of the box.
The price is set at $179 for the unlocked option, which offers LTE support as well. It’s certainly a mid-range device, but for the price that should be expected. It’s up for pre-order right now, and the release date is April 9.
