Huwaei P30/Pro: How to Take a Screenshot
Method 1
This method is one that works on not just the Huawei P30 series but almost all other Android devices as well.
- Press and hold the Volume Down and Power button simultaneously on your Huawei P30 or P30 Pro.
A screenshot will be taken instantly on your device and a small preview will be shown at the bottom corner of the display. You can tap the preview and then select the Scroll shot option if you want to take a longer screenshot and fit more content in one screenshot itself. You can also edit the screenshot, share it, or delete it from here.
If you want to dismiss the screenshot preview, simply swipe left on it.
Method 2
If you find the conventional way of pressing the hardware keys to take a screenshot cumbersome, there’s another way to take a screenshot on the Huawei P30 series. This involves using a knuckle gesture, though Huawei’s implementation is not as convenient as what other OEMs offer.
To take a knuckle screenshot, you just need to tap on the screen of your Huawei P30 using one of your knuckles. To take a scrolling screenshot, you knock on the screen with a knuckle and then draw an ‘S’ to take a scrolling screenshot.
Enable the Knuckle screenshot option on the Huawei P30/Pro from Settings -> Smart assistance -> Shortcuts & gestures -> Take screenshot.
Huawei P30/Pro: How to Record Screen
Huawei offers native screen recording option as a part of EMUI on the P30 series. For this, you just need to enable the knuckle gesture associated with the feature. Go to Settings -> Smart assistance -> Shortcuts & gestures -> Record screen. Once enabled, you can start a screen recording by simply double tapping the screen with two knuckles.
The same gesture can also be used to stop a screen recording. Remember that audio from the microphone is also recorded as a part of the screen recording.
