One day ago, the rumor mill produced information about a new Huawei-branded smartphone called the Nova 2s. And it turns out most of that information was spot-on.

Huawei has officially announced the Nova 2s, bringing with it a mid-range smartphone with a big display and more cameras than you can shake a stick at. First, the Nova 2s boasts a 6-inch display with a resolution of 2160×1080 and an 18:9 aspect ratio. The bezels have been minimized across the board, but there is still room for a physical home button below the display that also serves as a fingerprint reader.

The Nova 2s has a Kirin 960 processor under the hood, either 4GB of 6GB of RAM, options for either 64GB or 128GB of built-in storage, and a microSD card slot for expandable storage. There is a 3340mAh battery, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a USB Type-C port for charging, and dual-SIM card support. It is also running Android 8.0 Oreo under the custom Huawei user interface.

On the front, there are a pair of cameras: One 20MP camera with an f/2.0 aperture, and the other is a 2MP shooter with a LED flash next to it. Around back there are two more cameras, with the primary shooter being a 20MP sensor, and the other a 16-megapixel camera.

The Nova 2s will be available in Grey, Blue, Red, Black, and Rose Gold. It will be priced at 2699 yuan (~$400).

What do you think of the Huawei Nova 2s? Would you consider the new smartphone as your next daily driver?
