Up until last year, the maximum storage space that Google offered in a Nexus device was a measly 32GB. While this is more than enough for majority of power users, it is not enough for users who like to carry their whole music library around with them or just install a lot of games on their devices.
It was only with the Motorola-made Nexus 6 last year that Google had a change of heart and offered the handset in 32GB and 64GB storage variants. This year, with the Huawei Nexus 6P, things are going to get even better as the device will be available in 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB storage variants.
This will be the first time that Google is offering a 128GB storage variant of its Nexus device, which will be appreciated by many power users out there who are interested in purchasing the handset. It is also unlikely that the Nexus 6P will come with a microSD card slot, even though Google has made major changes in Android 6.0 Marshmallow in how it handles external storage devices.
Sadly, the LG-made Nexus 5X will be offered in 16GB and 32GB storage capacities only.
Google has already sent out invitations for an event in San Francisco on September 29th, where it is expected to unveil the new Nexus handsets, the second generation Chromecast, the final release of Android 6.0 Marshmallow, and more.
