The Huawei Mate 20 Lite is now official

Despite the fact that Huawei has already set some eyes on the future, announcing that it will be announcing the Mate 20 on October 16 in London, the company has also decided to launch the “Lite” version of that handset right now.

During IFA 2018, Huawei officially announced the Mate 20 Lite. This is a mid-range handset, but still manages to pack plenty of worthwhile features in there. That includes a 6.3-inch FHD+ display with a resolution of 1080×2340 and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. Under the hood, there is a Kirin 710 processor, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of built-in storage. The microSD card slot supports expandable storage up to 256GB.

The Mate 20 Lite features a 3750mAh battery, a fingerprint reader on the back, and it’s running Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box.

Meanwhile, the camera situation looks like this: A pair of cameras on the back, with the primary shooter being 20 megapixels with an aperture of f/1.8. The secondary camera is two megapixels. Meanwhile, around front, Huawei included a 24 “Fusion Pixel” camera, with an aperture of f/2.0. There is an additional 2MP front-facing camera for good measure.

Huawei’s new Mate 20 Lite will be available from both Carphone Warehouse and and Vodaphone beginning September 15 in the United Kingdom. It will launch on EE in October. It is priced at £379 in a SIM-free model.
