Huawei has announced through its official Weibo account that it has shipped more than 100 million smartphones this year.

Huawei is currently the third largest smartphone vendor in the world trailing Apple and Samsung. The company has had a meteoric rise in the last couple of years thanks to some great budget and premium smartphones released in China, India and other Asian countries. Huawei’s feat is nothing to scoff at since almost every other smartphone OEM is struggling with declining smartphone sales due to the saturating smartphone market.

The company had predicted back in July that it was on track to ship more than 100 million smartphones this year by the end of this year.

This will be the first time that Huawei has shipped more than 100 million smartphones in one year. This is despite the company having almost no presence in the United States, though that is about to change with the company launching the Mate 8, Honor 5X and a new smartwatch in the country early next year.

2015 has been a particularly great year for Huawei, with the company even working closely with Google on the Nexus 6P — the best Nexus handset ever. Did you buy a Huawei smartphone this year? If yes, how has your experience been with it so far?
