HTC has updated its camera app on the Google Play Store today to add support for RAW image capture on the One M9.
The One M9 comes with an F/2.2 aperture 20MP rear camera that has not really met with positive comments from reviewers. Taking decent shots from the phone’s camera requires a lot of fiddling around, which is not something that most users are ready to do. The ability to capture images in RAW format should, however, allow advanced users and photographers to extract the very maximum from what the Toshiba sensor can do and alleviate some of their issues with the poor image capture.
The ability to capture images in RAW is only available on the One M9, though One M8 Eye and Desire Eye owners do get a new Crop-Me-In mode with this update. The full changelog of the update is below:
– Raw Camera mode, only available on the HTC One M9– Crop-Me-In mode, only available on the HTC One (M8 EYE) running Android 5.0 Lollipop and the HTC Desire EYE– Adjustable divider in Split Capture mode– Add and remove camera modes
