Following the announcement of the Desire Eye, HTC wasn’t quite finished with their camera-focused Double Exposure event.

As was previously rumored, the RE camera is officially official. It’s a stand-alone camera unit, much like a GoPro, and HTC says that their two-button design makes it incredibly easy to film, or snap photos when you want. The RE camera features a 16MP camera, and two buttons at the top of the unique design. The first button is designed to either be activated with a single press, or with a long hold. When the former is activated, you can snap a single photo. When long-pressed, it activates 1080p HD video recording.

The second button is designed specifically for slow-motion video recording, in HD quality.

The RE camera doesn’t offer a viewfinder, but it does have a 146-degree wide angle lens, and the stand-alone camera is waterproof, which means you can jump into a swimming pool and keep on recording.

The RE camera will go on sale “in time for the holidays,” and will go for $199. It will be available through retailers like Best Buy, HTC’s website and Amazon. You can pre-order it through the source link below.
