HTC One M9 Plus

At its event in Shanghai, China today, HTC unveiled the Chinese variant of the One M9 — the One M9+. Compared to the normal M9, the + variant packs in some seriously impressive hardware internals that make it more desirable.

The M9+ comes with a 5.2-inch Quad HD display, a multi-directional fingerprint sensor located on the front of the device, and is powered by MediaTek’s octa-core Helio X10 processor (MT6795T). The only other key difference between the M9+ and its international sibling is the inclusion of a secondary depth camera on the rear which allows the device to retain all the Duo camera effects found on the M8.

Other specs that remain unchanged include 3GB RAM, a microSD card slot, a 4MP UltraPixel camera on the front, a 20MP rear shooter, front-facing BoomSound speakers with Dolby Audio support and Sense 7.

HTC’s announcement was short on other details about the M9+ including its price and availability dates. It is, however, almost a given that the Taiwanese company does not plan on launching the M9+ outside of China and a few other markets of Asia.
