Thanks to a new batch of information leaked out on Twitter, we’re getting a first look at an upcoming HTC-branded smartphone.
By way of serial leaker Evan Blass on Twitter, the HTC U11 EYEs (Harmony) has been revealed. This is a mid-range device, and it looks like it will be launched in China, with no word on when, or even if, HTC plans on bringing it to other markets. We also don’t have any information regarding the upcoming device’s camera(s), but the U11 EYEs is rumored to launch on January 15, so we don’t have long to wait before we potentially get all of these bullet points confirmed.
As for what we do know, Blass has confirmed the handset will boast a 6-inch Super LCD3 display, with a resolution of 1080×2160. It will have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor under the hood, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of built-in storage with a microSD card slot for expandable storage if needed. The U11 EYEs will run Android Nougat out of the box, feature a USB-C port, IP67-rated for water and dust resistance, and a 3930mAh battery.
The U11 EYEs will also have Edge Sense on board, so owners will be able to squeeze the phone to control some elements. It will be available in red, black, and blue at launch. It’ll reportedly be priced at ¥3299, or about $510 when it becomes available.
Based on what you’ve heard about the U11 EYEs, do you think you’ll pick one up if HTC launches it in your neck of the woods? What do you think of the phone’s name?
