HTC U

Details about HTC’s next flagship, the U, have been leaked by LlabTooFeR today. Known for his ROMs for HTC devices and leaks, today’s leak surrounding the HTC U includes some good and bad news.

Keeping up with the times, the HTC U will feature an IP57 rating that will make it dust and water-resistant. While not as good as the iPhone 7’s IP67 or Galaxy S8’s IP68 rating, this is still good enough for daily use.

On the disappointing side, the HTC U will not feature a 3.5mm headphone jack similar to the U Ultra. This is unlikely to go down well with most users especially since every other flagship Android device launched so far continues to come with the audio jack.

Perhaps even more disappointing is the fact that the HTC U will feature a design that will be very similar to the U Ultra. The handset essentially will be a mini version of the U Ultra, which means that we are looking at hefty top and bottom bezels.

As for specs, the HTC U will feature a 5.5-inch QHD display, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 chipset, 4GB RAM, 3000mAh battery, and 12MP/16MP rear and front shooters.

HTC is expected to unveil the U by the end of this month, with the handset launching in most markets by next month.
