Rumors have been floating around that HTC plans on unveiling its next-generation flagship, the Hima, at CES early next month. Today though, the company has killed those rumors by teasing the launch of a Desire handset at CES through its Weibo account.
While the teaser image does not explicitly reveal which model the Taiwanese maker intends to announce at CES, it tagline “Always Desire more” pretty much makes it clear that we are looking at a Desire branded handset here.
Desire handsets are HTC’s mid-range offerings, and they have been doing exceedingly well in Asian countries like China and India. The company had unveiled the its flagship mid-range handset — the Desire 820 at IFA in September this year, which packed a 5.5-inch phablet with a 720p display and a 64-bit Snapdragon 610 processor.
It is likely that the new Desire handset to be unveiled by HTC at CES 2015 will sit a notch or two below the Desire 820 — considering that the latter was announced just a couple of months ago.
