HTC One (M8) Google Play edition

HTC seems to have started rolling out the Android 5.1 update for the Google Play edition One M7 and One M8.

Mo Versi, VP of Product Management at HTC, announced on Twitter that the company has received the necessary Technical Approval from Google to rollout the update, and will start rolling out the OTA shortly. However, some One M8 owners over at Reddit have already received the OTA update on their phone.

The 244MB OTA update mainly brings bug fixes and performance improvements for issues that were present in Android 5.0.

You can find out everything that’s new in Android 5.1 here.

The OTA update has also been captured and has been made available for download, so One M8 users can sideload the update themselves as well.
