The HTC One M9 Plus leaked in quite a few dubious pictures before the launch of the One M9, but none of the leaks were strong enough to confirm the existence of the device.
The latest batch of leaked pictures, and a media invite from HTC China, however, confirm that the One M9 Plus is indeed real.
The leak suggest that the handset will be marketed as the “One M9+,” and will carry the model number “M9pt,” indicating that the handset will only be available in China. The images also confirm the presence of a fingerprint scanner, which is located at the bottom BoomSound speaker, and looks a lot like the Home button from a Samsung Galaxy device.
As for the specs, the M9+ will come with a Quad HD display, an octa-core 64-bit Mediatek chipset with a PowerVR G6200 GPU, 3GB RAM and the same 20MP camera module as the One M9, though it is now housed in a circular shape. The leaked pictures also suggest that the depth sensor from the One M8 will be making a return on the One M9+.
Other details about the One M9+ still remain unknown, but HTC will be revealing them all at its ‘More than One’ event on April 8th that it is holding in Beijing, China.
