HTC One X9 goes official with a 5.5-inch display, 13 MP OIS camera

No one asked for it, but HTC just made another addition to its smartphone lineup, which has been steadily growing with numerous knock-offs of its primary flagship this year. The One X9 has been made official on the company’s Weibo page

Like many of the One smartphones launched in the last couple of months, the One X9 is powered by a MediaTek processor (the 64-bit octa-core Helio X10, clocked at 2.2GHz) and features a metal body, with a 5.5-inch Full HD display at the front. There’s a 13-megapixel camera at the back with optical image stabilization (and support for shooting in RAW), and HTC is once again employing an UltraPixel sensor for the front camera.

BoomSound speakers are part of the package as well, with Dolby Audio support on headphones. Other specs include 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, a microSD slot, dual SIM slots, 4G LTE connectivity, and a 3,000 mAh battery. HTC doesn’t mention the version of Android this device is running, but based on the images it could be Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

The HTC One X9 will be offered in grey and silver for a price of 2,399 yuan (roughly $370). The One X9 should go on sale in China within the week considering HTC called it a “superior Christmas gift” in a teaser, though it’s too bad the One X9 doesn’t differentiate itself enough from existing HTC phones.
