Yesterday, HTC accidentally unveiled the One Max, a bigger brother of the HTC One running Android 4.3 with Sense 5.5. The latest version of Sense includes a few enhancements including a Do Not Disturb mode and customizable Quick tiles. The company recently started rolling out the Android 4.3 update with Sense 5 for the different carrier versions of One in the United States and Canada, and plans on bringing the Sense 5.5 update sometime before this year ends. The EU variants of the One will skip the Android 4.3 update with Sense 5, and instead, will directly get the Sense 5.5 update.
Now, thanks to a leaked RUU, One owners can already try out the latest version of Sense on their handset. While the leaked RUU is not the final update, it is does not contain any major bugs and is stable enough to be used as a daily driver.
Below are some of the new features that HTC has included in Sense 5.5 -:
- Customizable Quick Settings
- Do Not Disturb Mode
- Enhanced Blinkfeed with Google+ and RSS integration
- Ability to turn off Blinkfeed
- Reader mode (Offline) in Blinkfeed
- Enhanced Gallery and Camera app
- Updated look for the Recents app UI
- HTC Scribble
- Enhanced lock screen widgets implementation
- Updated Music Player and Gallery UI
The leaked firmware can be downloaded from here and will work on all the GSM variants of the One. Make sure to backup your data before proceeding with the installation though.
